Rambled on a bit. No apologies. Easy to get excited about this book.
Bought it right away. Consumed it all the evening I received it. It’s that good.
Full Disclosure: I only include Amazon affiliate links when I genuinely recommend a book, and I definitely stand behind Ignore Everybody: and 39 Other Keys to Creativity so if you decide to purchase it from this site you’re contributing to my piggy bank.

Video Book Review of Hugh MacLeod’s “Ignore Everybody” —http://bit.ly/I1dHW
Thanks 🙂
Actually, it’s pronounced “McCloud”… 😉
@Hugh
1.) It’s a shame we’ve never met so I’d know that.
2.) I’d probably “Ignore Everybody” and mis-pronounce it anyway to I could maintain the rhyme. I think it was integral to the success of the video.
Thanks for sharing the book & your story with all of us.

Ryan,
Seems like a great book — interesting in exploring both the creative and business side of my passion, so this seems right on target. Looking forward to checking it out; a great rec!
Also, I have to say, your enthusiasm is infectious and really shines through in your video blogs and your writing. That’s awesome, keep it up! 🙂
@Susan – Well I don’t want to be accused of being a Gary V poser, but that really is my personality so I’m glad you thought it was authentic/infectious. What a compliment.
And please come back here after you’ve read the book and let me know what you think of it. I hope you like it, and get as much value from it as I did.
I look forward to your book reviews the same way people look forward to my BlogCrushes. I just bought this on Amazon, your review definitely intrigued me to reading it. I especially liked the wolf/sheep example, though I’m not sure you are quite a sheep (having not read the book maybe I’m not applying the correct personification.) We’ll have to come up with an animal somewhere in between…an emu perhaps? Not sure why, I just like the word emu. 🙂 I’ll work on it!
@Elisa – Like I told Susan, please let me know what you think once you’ve read it! You’d be correct in assuming that I’m definitely not a sheep. Usually my sarcasm comes through in video format 🙂 I don’t know that I’m necessarily a wolf yet either, but I like to think of myself as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. lol
Or an emu. What ever happened to those things?
Ryan – I agree with you that you could get more out of this book by reading the first paragraphs to each key than you could out of most books. Great job on the video – keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Steve
@Steve
Thanks for the kind words about the video. I’m glad you also got a lot out of Hugh’s book. Like I mentioned in the video, it’s definitely a book I’ll re-visit often.
Hope you continue to contribute here at RSM!
Ryan,
This book is one I’ve been pondering ever since I’ve had the oppurtunity of meeting you. Over the past 50+ days I have probably meet some amazing people via networking. I hope to land a social networking job soon!
